There’s never a bad moment for a historic season, but Scottie Scheffler’s career was arguably the best.

One day, golf historians will look back on Scheffler’s rise to World No. 1 as a fallen flame in the explosion of the golf money era. And if they look at that increase, their negotiations will begin in the 2024 season.

Scheffler won eight times in ’24, including a Masters victory, an Olympic gold medal, and a season-ending victory at the big-money Tour Championship. Those are fancy numbers, earned at high-profile events, but they somehow underline the most impressive value of Scheffler’s 2024: the one staring back at his bank account.

World No. 1 gained more than that $62 million in 2024, including bonuses from the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the Comcast Business Top 10. That’s the highest-earning season in PGA Tour history, double the number of the top earners on the PGA Tour (Xander Schauffele, $29 million) and even less and the most profitable seasons for the remainder of the PGA Tour’s five-decade history.

Of course, only the bloated (and still unofficial) signing bonuses at LIV Golf can compare to Scheffler’s salary in one season, and even then, the numbers don’t compare. With his $25 million payday from the Tour Championship, no one can claim to have won that much in one season from competing in golf tournaments in the history of the sport. And, in reality, the numbers aren’t even close.

With that in mind, let’s dive into some of the craziest numbers from Scheffler’s year.
