Samsung Unveils AI-Powered Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 and Book4 Edge at IFA 2024

At IFA 2024, Samsung unveiled two new Galaxy Book PCs, demonstrating its commitment to integrating AI into everyday technology. I Galaxy Book5 Pro 360developed in partnership with Intel, it features the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor, which provides improved AI-driven productivity, a cross-device experience, and longer battery life. With Galaxy AI, it is able to deliver a personalized personal experience and features high-quality graphics and displays, making it perfect for both work and entertainment.

The laptop retains several features from its predecessor, including a convertible design that allows it to function as a tablet, with a touchscreen and S Pen support for more flexibility when writing or drawing. IS Pen is included in the box by default.

Powered by the new second-generation Intel Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 processors, the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 delivers 48 TOPS of AI processing—This enables the integration of the Copilot+ feature, which supports the functions of -Advanced AI within the operating system. . These functions include the Studio Effects background blur and filter app during video calls, access to Cocreator in Paint, and real-time translation of captions on videos and calls.

Additionally, the “Search Circle” feature has been introduced, allowing users to easily find items on the screen by circling what they want to search for. Initially introduced with the Galaxy S24 series of smartphones, the feature is now available on Samsung’s Copilot+ PCs.

Samsung has also expanded its line of Arm laptops by introducing the 15-inch Galaxy Book4 Edge. This affordable device includes Copilot+ and mid-range hardware, aimed at making Windows on Arm popular.

The laptop has a 15.6-inch full HD display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 300 nits brightness, although the display technology remains unspecified. A 2 MP web camera capable of recording in Full HD is placed on the strong bezels of the device. The keyboard includes a compact number pad, which improves productivity, and a dedicated shortcut key for Copilot, the AI-powered chatbot inside Windows 11, which comes pre-installed.

The Galaxy Book 4 Edge is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus, one of the new 8-core CPU options, which may be the “X1P-46-100” or “X1P-42-100” variant. It includes a neural processing unit (NPU) that provides 45 TOPS of computing power for AI tasks, such as Microsoft’s Cocreator in Paint to generate images with text, Windows Studio Effects, and Live Tweaks.

Users can connect Galaxy smartphones to a PC using Link to Windows, gaining access to popular Galaxy AI features such as Simultaneous Translation, Photo Assistant, and Google Search Cycle, as long as they have a Galaxy-compatible device AI.

The laptop comes with 16 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB SSD. It also has two microphones and two speakers with Dolby Atmos for an enhanced sound experience.

The Galaxy Book 4 Edge is powered by a 61.2 Wh battery, which supports 65 W USB-C charging. Connectivity options include USB-C, USB-A 3.2, HDMI 2.1, a memory card reader, and a headphone jack.

Availability and Pricing

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 is available for pre-order from this Wednesday (Fourth) in countries such as Canada, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States, with a starting price of £1,799 (~$2.371).
