Hyundai’s N Vision 74 concept may be headed for production

It is increasingly likely to enter production for Hyundai’s high-performance N Vision 74, as indicated by its inclusion in Hyundai’s plan to launch 21 all-electric models by 2030. This information was revealed during the CEO presentation of Hyundai’s Investment Day 2024, where the Vision 74 was mentioned alongside other future models such as the Genesis Magma concept.

The IN Vision 74 draws inspiration from Hyundai’s 1974 Pony Coupe concept, designed by the same person who worked on the DMC DeLorean, and the concept car, the Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo. Initially, the Vision 74 was envisioned with a hybrid hydrogen fuel cell system, although the final production version may be very different from what has been shown so far.

Hyundai’s extensive lineup includes a variety of vehicles, from affordable EVs like the Inster/Casper subcompact and the three-row Ioniq 9 (to be launched in the US) to electric vehicles from the Genesis and high-performance models. The company is also exploring a variety of powertrain options, including internal combustion engines (ICE), hybrids, plug-in hybrids, electric vehicles (EVs), and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

Although management did not specifically mention the N Vision 74 at the time of its launch, its inclusion in Hyundai’s future lineup suggests that the company is serious about bringing the concept to life. However, its final form and powertrain may change before it reaches the market.
