Cirstea Withdraws From US Open

World No. 39 Cirstea will miss this month after withdrawing from the US Open today.

34-year-old Cirstea knocked out Anna Kalinskaya, Elena Rybakina and Belinda Bencic to reach the quarterfinals of the 2023 US Open before bowing out to Karolina Muchova.
The quarterfinal run was Cirstea’s best performance at Flushing Meadows and marked her fourth major quarterfinal appearance.
The US Open main draw begins on August 26.
