Alalshikh Responds To Canelo’s Criticism, Questions Fighter’s Motives
Honorable Turki Alalshikh posted a response to Canelo Alvarez’s comments on Tuesday about not liking how he talks about him.
Alvarez said that if Turki wants him to fight certain fights, like Terence Crawford, for example, “He needs to do it my way. It’s not his way.”
It is not clear how much money Canelo wanted to fight Crawford, but there are rumors that his price was cool. $150 millionwhich is a fair amount compared to $240 million strikers Floyd Mayweather Jr. who fought Manny Pacquiao.
If Crawford is the biggest money-grabbing commercial fight for Canelo, he should bring in a lot of dough to cover the purse requirements of the two fighters.
Judging by his comments X minutes ago, Turki doesn’t sound like he does: “I knew you were wasting our time and making excuses for huge sums of money that can’t be paid.”
Tyson Fury was reportedly paid around $100 million to fight Oleksandr Usyk last May, but he is nowhere near as famous as Canelo in the US.
American fans don’t care about Fury, 35, because he’s seen as a washed-up, old, fat guy. If he’s worth that kind of money, it’s understandable why Canelo would want the same, if not more, dough to fight Crawford. Fury is nobody in the US
Alalshikh Questions Canelo’s Choice of Opponents
“I heard what Canelo said that he respects me but he doesn’t like the way we do business,” continued Turki. “Regarding the way I do business, I know why he doesn’t like it because I target only big fights at reasonable prices, so anyone who likes easy fights won’t like that.
Canelo noted that he did not like his name being used as promotional tool to help boost Crawford’s Riyadh Season fight against Israil Madrimov last Saturday night at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
I heard that Canelo respects me but he doesn’t like the way we do business.
As for whether you respect me, it doesn’t matter to me whether you respect me or not.

In addition, Canelo was not happy with Turki’s comments about his UFC-sponsored event on September 14, canceling his one-night event against Edgar Berlanga at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It was a friendly competition.
“After losing to Bivol, he has been looking for easy fights ever since. Also, I’m not afraid to fight Benavidez or Crawford,” said Alalshikh.
It has been a while since Turki suggested that Canelo is afraid of fighting Crawford because, after his performance last weekend against Madrimov, the Mexican star has no fear of fighting him.
The Crawford looked like an old car with 300,000 miles on the odometer, struggling up the hill. Terence can’t beat Canelo and any of the top five fighters at 168. If you throw in Crawford and David Benavidez, it can be a feeding frenzy.
Canelo would appreciate Alalshikh fighting Crawford, but he won’t hold it unless his asking price is met.
Alvarez is so rich, with an estimated $250 million in earnings, that he can’t be pressured into fighting former star Crawford, Benavidez, or anyone else unless he’s happy with the money being offered.
Canelo is literally swimming in the money he has right now and continues to pour, no matter who he’s facing.
