The USA continued to remind of the strength in depth of its talent on Friday in Zhuhai, where it defeated Slovakia 3-0 to advance to the 2024 Davis Cup Final 8.
The record 32-time Davis Cup champion heads to China without five of his players currently in the Top 20 of the PIF ATP Rankings. However, Brandon Nakashima, Reilly Opelka and Mackenzie McDonald all won singles this week to ensure a good start to their country’s Davis Cup Finals Group Stage campaign.

Friday’s victory for the USA at the same time guaranteed Germany its place in the Final 8. The two teams will meet on Saturday to determine who will win Group C and thus advance to the Davis Cup Finals in November, which will be held in Malaga from 19-24 November.
