Studio Until Dawn is once again laying off workers before the game is over
The studio behind the upcoming PlayStation 5 and PC remaster of the PlayStation 4 survivor horror game Until Dawn it has let go of some of its staff a month before its release on October 4. reported the bad news on Sunday, and Ballistic Moon confirmed the layoffs in a statement posted on Labor Day, of all days.
“It is with great regret and a heavy heart that we have to make the difficult decision to downsize our team in order to protect the future of our studio,” the statement continued. “This comes after our progress in Until Dawn for PS5 and PC.” Ballistic Moon did not say how many employees were cut, or what percentage of the team was let go.
Two former employees revealed the news on their social media accounts over the weekend. A young former game designer and former tech designer posted news about their respective job losses on LinkedIn.
“Like many others in this beautiful but tumultuous industry, I was sadly made redundant from my role as a Minigame Designer at Ballistic Moon,” Cornish wrote. “The team was great and I’m really excited about our game coming out in October!”
