Abdullah Mason Eyes World Title In 2025 After Explosive KO

Lightweight Abdullah Mason (15-0, 13 KOs) said he thinks he will fight for the world title in 2025 following his second round knockout of Mike Ohan Jr. (19-3, 9 KOs) on Saturday night at the Videotron Center in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

Tonight, Mason arguably stole the show again, dropping Ohan twice in the fight to earn a second round knockout in the first half of the card. The fight was stopped after Mason dropped Ohan with a right hook in the second round. The referee’s stoppage time was: 40 mark.

Mason dropped Ohan in the bottom of the first with a left uppercut that threw him up. In the second, Marson finished the job with a right hook that knocked him down a second time for the stoppage.

Mason turns 21 in 2025 and feels ready to challenge for a world title at 135. Fans will want to see Mason challenge one of these three: Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson or Vasily Lomachenko.

“2025 will be a big year for us”

“2025 will be a big year for us. “I’m looking forward to coming home to Cleveland,” said Abdullah Mason.

“Continuing to do the job as I do against any competition,” said Mason when asked how he ensures he gets the world title in 2025. I need to make sure I keep getting them out there the same way.

“Once you’ve done the work, the work speaks for itself,” said Abdullah Mason, saying he doesn’t need to shout about his success the way other fighters do. “There’s no need for me to do anything else, call out the names, go back a fourth time. As long as I am fixing the world, it will show itself.”

Mark Kriegel: “You know people are going to start coming to you now.”

“Sure,” said Mason. “If they do, I’ll be ready. You have to have a purpose behind everything you do, and you have to be sure that your strong intention or actions will turn out the way you want them to. “
