Hours before he was sworn into office, Donald Trump promised to sign a number of executive orders on his first day as president while celebrating at a victory rally.

Trump addressed a crowd of thousands of supporters in Washington DC the day before his inauguration, offering a vision for the next four years and celebrating his election victory over Democrats.

The Republican promised to take action against many of the problems, using his new presidential powers to introduce deportations and loosening environmental regulations.

“I will do it with historic speed and strength and fix all the problems facing our country,” he promised the crowd.

“You will have a lot of fun watching television tomorrow,” he told those gathered at the “Make America Great Again Victory Rally”. “Every strict and foolish discipline of the Biden administration will be undone within hours of me taking the oath of office.”

Trump promised authority orders that will increase the artificial intelligence, build i Department of Public Works (DOGE), made available records related to the assassination of former presidents, directed the military to build the Iron Dome missile defense system and ended the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies of the military.

Media reports indicate that Trump may issue more than that 200 top acts on Monday, an exception to the executive order.

Administrative orders are recognized by the courts, are legally binding and are published in the Federal Register. They can be overthrown by future presidents.

Administrative actions, however, carry little weight and are not subject to formal review. They serve more as a “wish list” of policies the president hopes to accomplish, writes political columnist Tom Murse.

“You will see executive orders that will make you very happy,” he told the crowd. “We have to put our country on the right path.”

Most of these executive orders are expected to be challenged in court.

Trump again he promised to sign actions by officials who will deal with illegal immigration at the border by launching what they say will be the largest deportation operation in history.

The meeting was held at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC, which holds approximately 20,000 people.

It started with a performance by Kid Rock and included speeches from TV host Megyn Kelly, actor Jon Voight and senior Trump adviser Stephen Miller.

Grammy-winning country singer Lee Greenwood also sang ‘God Bless the USA’, which has become Trump’s campaign anthem.

Greenwood — a friend and business partner of the president-elect — has performed live for 10 presidents, twice for Trump, including his 2016 inauguration.

“Putting God first in the message of the song, I believe that affected that president more than any previous president,” he told the BBC World Service’s Newshour programme.

Elon Musk also gave a brief speech after Trump proposed his creation of DOGE, an advisory agency called the Department of Government Operations where Mr. Musk will work with Vivek Ramaswamy.
