Top aid officials issue call for ceasefire during visit to Gaza City – Global Issues

Muhannad Hadi, who is also the Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, made this appeal during his visit to Gaza City, where he met with representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

The official also visited the Holy Family Church, where he recorded a video message on the steps of the church, surrounded by homeless children.

“It does not mean that churches, mosques, citizens, and all public infrastructure must be protected. They can only be protected at the end of this war; with a ceasefire,” he emphasized.

‘End this war’

He said the displaced Gaza youth “deserve to return home.” In addition, the children sitting with him “are the hope of the future, and without education, without proper health care, there will be no bright future,” he added.

“Also, I am here and I am urging this church in Gaza to end this war, for the sake of these children, for the sake of the future, but also for the sake of a better future for all of us in this area.”
