Astro Bot is a beautiful 3D platformer with an engaging protagonist, dozens of planets to explore and a wide range of highly satisfying missions to complete. It requires patience, awareness and a high level of field skill, although resets are graceful and failure costs nothing but your time. The main character, Astro, is endlessly likable as he flies through the galaxies determined to rescue his 300 friends, many of whom include characters from the Sony library and the entire gaming world – there are many bots from Capcom, Konami and Sega franchises .
The many planets Astro lives on introduce new equipment, such as spring-loaded boxing gloves that resemble a frog’s face, an octopus that blows Astro up like a balloon, a mouse backpack that crumples at will, a penguin-powered swimming booster. , and a stopwatch that stops time temporarily. The stages are designed around these unique machines and the variety on display is amazing.
