One Piece Anime Set Again In April
After taking a break in October, new episodes of One piece it starts again on April 6, 2025.
The company revealed the news during the Jump Festa weekend. Last we went, the series was in the midst of an “Egghead” episode, and a brilliant new preview shows things to come as the Straw Hats prepare to smuggle Dr. Vegapunk takes him away from an island with a name… until they lay siege to it. The second part of the arc will also move One piece in the new time zone: Sunday night at 11:15 PM JST.
The new era isn’t the only change coming—it’s moving forward, for workers very much! ship captain Franky will now be voiced by Subaru Kimura (who played little Buggy) in the Japanese locale. Franky’s longtime actor Kazuki Yao announced his retirement in early December, and to make the transition official, he gave Kimura Franky’s underwear on stage. In a statement, One piece creator Eiichiro Oda thanked Yao for playing Franky “for so long! No matter where you go, you will always be our nakama!! And Subara-san, I’m looking forward to having you on board!!”
Oda also commented on this anime’s 25th anniversary year, and gave his “big thanks to our great crew,” and gave a shout-out to Netflix’s live adaptation. Interestingly, he teased that 2025 will see “various projects and announcements”. One piece; The Netflix show is getting a second season, and the broadcaster is also making anime for newcomers. The franchise releases a new movie about every three years, so could a new movie be around the corner? Meanwhile, the current albaph arc of the manga will see the “arrival of someone,” and more conflicts in the seas as “that boy begins to shake the world.”

The year 2025 will be the “SUUUUUUPER year of One piece,” said Oda—starting with its anime comeback “Egghead Part II” on April 6.
