Lights Out Star Aaron Pierre You’ve Already Seen The Perfect Green Lantern Practice

Aaron Pierre will soon be seen as a version of DC hero John Stewart in an upcoming HBO series. Lights. He recently admitted that he has never watched the most famous (or not so famous, rather) live performance The Green Lantern comedy – Ryan Reynolds’ 2011 film – but instead had more, a lot the best page-to-screen introduction to the character: the ’00s The Justice League cartoons.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly ahead of his next big-screen project—he voices the title character in the future The King is the King prequel Mufasa-Pierre said “I’ve never seen that” when asked about the 2011 feature, a critical miss that later found purpose thanks to Reynolds’ use of it as Deadpool-almost comic fodder. However, he told EW himself it does he plans to watch it while he does his Lights preparatory work.

However, you have already read well in another example of The Green Lantern the world. “Justice League Unlimited it might have been one of my first introductions to John Stewart,” he explained. Cartoon Network series The Justice League ran from 2001-2004 and featured popular voice actor Kevin Conroy reprising his role. Batman: The Animated Series version of Batman—with Phil LaMarr, another voice acting legend (Futurama, Samurai Jack)like John Stewart. Conroy and LaMarr also starred in the play The Justice League follow-up series Justice League Unlimitedwhich started in 2004-2006… right when Pierre was 10 to 12 years old. Perfect timing.

Pierre’s Stewart will work with veteran Green Lantern Corps member Hal Jordan Lights-that’s the version of the character Reynolds played, played by Kyle Chandler in the HBO series. However Lights casting for both characters has grabbed a lot of headlines (remember when Josh Brolin turned down the role of Jordan?), Pierre told EW that he wasn’t really aware of the media frenzy.

“I was just locked into giving the best version of this beautiful character I could in a rigorous audition process,” he explained. “I firmly believe that what is meant for you will not be forgotten. So, I gave my best and then released you. Now I’ve been given the opportunity to bring this wonderful character to life and, hopefully, work for John Stewart. Hopefully, I work for the Green Lantern Corps. We’re really excited for people to see what we’re putting together here.”

Lights it doesn’t have a release date yet, but look for it later next year or sometime in 2026.
