Google Pixel 8a drops to a new low of $399

The Pixel 8a has the same Tensor G3 chip as the rest of the Pixel 8 lineup, meaning you get access to the same AI features as its higher-end siblings. We’re fans of the cameras, 120Hz OLED display and battery life too (it lasted 20 and a half hours in our video test). IP67 dust and water resistance is acceptable as Qi wireless charging, even if it is not the fastest with a maximum capacity of 7.5 watts. Add all that up and it’s no surprise that the Google Pixel 8a has won.
Google’s latest entry-level Pixel is an excellent budget Android phone. It can be all yours for $399, but keep in mind that the company is about to reveal the Pixel 9 lineup.

Those are expected to have better features (some of which will come to Pixel 8 devices eventually), a deeply integrated Gemini AI chatbot, an improved chipset and an updated camera system. If you’re looking for the latest Pixel device – which will come with an extra year of software support – it’ll be worth holding off on for a few weeks. However, if you need a new Android phone right now, you can’t go wrong with any of the options above.
