Apple may launch a smart home control center next year
Apple is rumored to be working on a new smart home product. Mark Gurman Bloomberg that the company is building a wall-mounted display to control electronics, which works with Siri and videoconferencing. The tablet is said to look like a “square iPad” with a “nearly 6-inch screen.” It will have a camera on top and internal speakers and a built-in battery. Sources said the smart home display could be officially announced in March after three years of development.
This definition sounds more like , which came out in 2018, or , which is already reaching its eighth iteration. If Apple wants to be a serious competitor in the smart home space, it will have to prove to customers that it has something to offer that these more established brands don’t.
Currently, the only distinguishing feature is possible , it finally started to roll out to users in late October, and the upcoming system to control software programs with AI. But Apple may be looking ahead to something a little weirder than a smart device control panel. Gurman reported that Apple is already working on a version with a robotic arm that can move the tablet. It should be interesting to see exactly when and if Apple officially launches.
