Fans see a porn website on the Mattel Wicked dolls package
Eagle-eyed Wicked fans got more than they bargained for when the small print on the packaging of the movie-inspired dolls mistakenly included the address of an adult website.
Mattel has just released singing dolls ahead of the long-awaited Wicked movie starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
People who bought the dolls posted pictures on social media of a package with a pornographic site called Wicked, instead of the movie’s URL.
Toy company Mattel was contacted for comment.
The BBC saw online instructions on Mattel’s website, for the Glinda and Elphaba dolls, listing the faulty website under the logo of Universal Pictures – the film studio behind the film.
Mattel recommends the dolls for children ages four and up.
Fans who bought the doll shared their surprise on social media.
“I bought a Singing Elphaba doll and when I checked it, the website was printed on the back side. [of the] The Mattel box, above the barcode listed… a non-religious adult [not safe for work] 18+ website,” one person wrote on Reddit.
“Who else sees this!?”
In another post, a US-based woman said: “I went to Target and Walmart today and yes, the Wicked dolls [porn] on the listed website.”

Set in the Land of Oz before the arrival of Dorothy Gales from Kansas, the film includes the first act of the musical.
British actress Erivo plays the role of Elphaba, a young woman who is misunderstood because of her green skin and has yet to discover her powers that will eventually lead her to become the Wicked Witch of the West.
He begins an unlikely friendship with his classmate Glinda, played by Grammy-winning singer Grande, who would go on to become the Good Witch of the North.
The film will be released in the US and UK on November 22nd.
