The New Star Wars Trilogy Is Coming, And It Could Be Episodes 10, 11, and 12
Lucasfilm is adding a new trilogy of movies to its overflowing slate (for now) star Wars projects—which would run the fictional Skywalker Saga through Episodes Ten, Eleven, and Twelve.
Deadline reports that Simon Kinberg–producer of multiple X-Men films, and, in a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars Rebels alongside Carrie Beck and Dave Filoni– tapped to write the new trilogy, and produce alongside Kathleen Kennedy. The trade also reports that it has heard that this trilogy of films could be the official 10th, 11th, and 12th entries in the Skywalker Saga made up of the Prequel, Original, and Sequel Trilogies, but also notes that that theory has been refuted. several insiders, instead citing that the trilogy will be a new, independent series of films designed to “start a new saga.”
