In tonight’s heavyweight fight, super middleweight champion Bektemir Melikuziev takes on heavyweight slugger David Stevens in a 12-round fight. Golden Boy is trying to put 28-year-old Bektemir in his place for a title shot against unified super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez.
The Bektemir-Stevens fight was supposed to end the WBA title, but Bektemir arrived on the scale overweight. As such, the WBA title decider is only for Stevens.
On tonight’s card is IBF flyweight champion Gabriela Fundora (14-0, 6 KOs), fighting for an undisputed championship against WBA, WBC, and WBO champion Gabriela Alaniz (15-1, 6 KOs). This fight could steal the show at tonight’s event on DAZN.
