Love is a Killer in Heart Eyes’ First trailer

Holiday-themed slasher villains have been gaining a lot of attention over the past few years. And the return of Michael Myers in Halloween reboot trilogy, let’s have it Gratitude, Fear, and now Valentine’s Day is getting into some killer fun with Sony’s new movie, Eyes of the Heart.

Directed by Werewolves Inside Josh Ruben, the film stars Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding as Seattle co-workers who work overtime on Valentine’s Day. It feels very romantic, except there is a masked killer in town known as the Heart Eyes Killer targeting the couple. After the two witness the killer pull off a gruesome double murder, Heart Eyes realizes they must be lovers and decides to pay attention to them (and the knife). They are not a couple, but maybe sparks will fly as they run away and try to survive the night.

Eyes of the Heart it has Shout out The DNA in it, not just in Gooding’s circulation; was co-written and produced by Christopher Landon, the original director of Shout out 7 who left the project last year after Paramount and Spyglass (the film’s production company) fired Melissa Barrera over her pro-Palestinian comments in reference to Israel’s conflict with Hamas. At the film’s announcement in June, Ruben promised that the film would deliver a “brutal hit in a nostalgic rom-com setting.” The tagline promises “no couple is safe,” and if you’ve seen the latter Shout out movies, many of those killers can be bad, so watching it happen to lovers can be fun in a twisted way?

Also starring Devon Sawa, Jordana Brewster, and Michaela Watkins, Eyes of the Heart he kills with love (and anything else nearby) on February 7, 2025.
