Netflix is giving us another chance to watch the second season of The Squid Game
We’re officially in the “trailer” spot for the new season of Squid Game but a lot of interesting details have just dropped in the latest for season two.
The new trailer takes us deep into the games as Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, returns to the island presumably to take down the rich dictators and the Front Man from within the tournament. Seong is back as a player (Player 456 again, to be specific) and at least two games from last season will be new episodes, including “Green Light” and the dalgona cookie cutter challenge. This time, though, they have some experienced competition in a sea of green, bloody jumpsuits to tell them how to avoid the pitfalls (figuratively and literally when Mirror Bridge returns).
Seong appears to be on a personal mission to save the latest batch of players who may have no understanding of the sport and its high stakes. Unlike last season, Seong is not smiling when taking his official pageant photo. The new trailer also features an energetic Seong trying to convince a new batch of players to vote to leave the island with their lives intact.
The next season of Squid game it lands on Netflix the day after Christmas, but for me, it can’t get here fast enough.
