Haney Invites Prograis to Camp to Help Train Catteral
Devin Haney appeared to poke fun at Regis Prograis today when he graciously responded to the interview saying he has more tools than Jack Catterall. Instead of saying thank you, Haney invited him to his camp when he began training at Catteral.
Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) hopes that the Honorable Turki Alalshikh will be interested in putting together a fight between him and Catteral. It is doubtful whether he will agree.
Prograis responded to Haney’s sarcastic comment, saying, “I think you might be bipolar, bro.“
It seemed strange that Haney invited former WBA and WBC light welterweight champion Prograis (29-3, 24 KOs) to the camp, apparently as a sparring partner, when he praised him with these “tools” words.
Last Saturday night, Haney was visibly upset when Prograis told Catterall he was the best fighter he’d ever fought as he ran off following his 12-round unanimous decision loss at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England. Haney then wrote to x, saying, “I messed up Regis and beat him worse than Catterall. Regis is just bitter.”
If that wasn’t enough, Haney said Prograis should “retire” and has no chin. Those are rich words from Haney, considering what Ryan Garcia just did to him on April 20, knocking him down three times in one round of a 12-round decision in Brooklyn, New York.
Prograis responded to Haney, saying, “No, I’m not retiring. I’m going to be a champion again.” Regis will move up to welterweight, and has a good chance of defeating three champions to become a two-division world champion. If Prograis takes the title at 147, a rematch with Haney could be on the cards in the future if Devin doesn’t retire in 2025 if things go badly for him in his comeback.
Ok Regis don’t stop.. come to the camp when I fight Catteral
