Google is reportedly developing a ‘Jarvis’ AI that can take over your web browser

Google may be close to unveiling an AI agent that can use the web browser to help users perform everyday tasks automatically. reports that the company is working on a “computing agent” under the codename Project Jarvis, and it could be ready for previews as soon as December. According to the sources he spoke to InformationJarvis “responds to human commands by taking regular screenshots of what’s on his computer screen, and interprets the images before performing actions like clicking a button or typing in a text field.”

Jarvis is reportedly made to work only with web browsers – specifically Chrome – to help with common tasks like researching, shopping and booking flights. It comes as Google continues to expand the capabilities of its Gemini AI, a next-generation model expected to be unveiled in December, as reported by . Gemini Live, Google’s AI chatbot, this month, and the Gemini integration just made it to , and other apps.

Jarvis’ news comes days later but what appears to be the most expansive feature of Claude AI, which he says is equipped with computer capabilities to “use standard tools and software programs designed for humans.” That’s available now in public beta.
