Eero introduces a weatherproof outdoor Wi-Fi advisor
Some people have buildings that are too big to be covered by the best Wi-Fi sets, especially if they have large areas of land. It’s an issue that Eero is looking to address with the Outdoor 7, an addition to its Eero 7 series of mesh Wi-Fi nodes designed for outdoor living. The hardware is IP66 rated and the company says it will continue to work in temperatures ranging from -40F to 130F, regardless of the weather.
At 15,000 square feet, Eero says the Outdoor 7 should be suitable for everyone from restaurant owners with patios to landowners who want to keep their security cameras connected. Each unit supports Wi-Fi 7 at speeds up to 2.1Gbps, works with Thread, Zigbee and Matter devices, and has a 2.5Gb ethernet port with Power Over Ethernet support. You’ll also get a mounting kit to help you screw it to stucco, vinyl, wood or fiber cement walls.
The Eero Outdoor 7 will be available for purchase in the US on November 13 for $350, or $400 when bundled with a third-party 30W Power Over Ethernet adapter.
