Hell Yeah, Godzilla Minus One is Stomping Back to Theaters
Godzilla Minus One it was one of the biggest surprises of 2023, and one of the best of the year in general. It’s already out in streaming and physical form, but if you’ve been wanting to see it in theaters again, Toho is more than happy to oblige.
The Oscar-winning hit will hit theaters again starting November 1, both in its regular and black-and-white (aka “Minus Color”) formats. To sweeten the deal, this new version of the Remove One will also include an additional 13 minutes of exclusive behind-the-scenes content. It’s all in service of Godzilla Day, which falls on November 3, and celebrates the 70th birthday of the original 1954 film’s theatrical release in Japan. How long does it last? Toho didn’t say, so it might be best to get a viewing while the chance is still there.
Over there Minus One, 2024 has been a great year for Godzilla. The American-made MonsterVerse version of the character (whose 2014 film turned 10 this year) is back Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which ended up being a huge hit on WB and Legendary, and is getting a follow up soon. King, a great TV spinoff set in that universe, has been greenlit for a second season (and possibly other spinoffs to join it), and the giant lizard also made a guest appearance in the game’s well-received DLC. Dave the Diver.
