Rick and Morty Renewed for Season 12
Adult Swimming has yet to announce an exact release date Rick and Morty season eight yet, but at today’s New York Comic Con panel for the much-loved sci-fi series, there was still more outstanding fan news: season 10 will not be the end of the series. Season 11 and 12, baby! Let’s go!
Speaking on stage at the conference, producer Dan Harmon promised that means the show will be around until at least 2029, although the entire team (including the cast) echoed Rick’s often-remembered words that they hope it will continue. “100 years.” We do know that the eighth season is coming sometime in 2025, and Adult Swimming has shared an interesting first look at this animation style. As you’ll see, Rick and Morty (portrayed by Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden) come across a burning ship in deep space… and curiosity, greed (especially Rick’s greed), and catastrophic chaos quickly follow. Oh jeez!
The rest of the main cast includes Chris Parnell as Jerry, Sarah Chalke as Beth, and Spencer Grammer as Summer.
In a statement cited by Deadline, Harmon and executive producer Scott Marder shared their excitement about the other Rick and Morty to come
“No one wants a universe without it Rick and Morty. Fortunately, the list of places to go is endless,” says Harmon. Echoing the words spoken on stage at NYCC, Marder added, “I couldn’t be more proud to carry this baton pass for the rest of my life.” Rick and MortySeason four brought us to season 10. Going beyond that is a gift I can’t wait to give to our fans. Rick and Morty—a hundred years—forever!”
