Trio leads at Open de France; Lev Grinberg, 16, gets cut
SAINT-QUENTIN-EN-YVELINES, France – Belgium’s Thomas Detry shot a second-round 63 to share the lead with England’s Dan Bradbury and Jesper Svensson at 9 under at the Open de France on Friday.
Five players were shot in the back.
Detry also shot an 8-under 63 during the Paris Olympics, also at Golf National.
“You’re off to a good start,” said Detry. “It’s the type of golf course where it gives you a few chances on the first few holes, and if you drive it right, which I’ve done all week so far, you can go down. I’ve been here too many times.”
Bradbury posted a second round 66 and Svensson fired a 68.
Lev Grinberg, a 16-year-old from Ukraine who is playing just his fifth time on the European Tour, is 5 under.
