A YouTuber has been charged with sexual harassment in Australia
British rapper and internet sensation Yung Filly has been charged with rape in Australia.
Real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, he is best known for his work with the YouTube group Beta Squad and has presented shows on BBC Three.
He was He was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday and was sent to Perth the following day to attend the trial.
Barrientos, 29, was charged on Thursday and his bail request has been approved. His representatives have been contacted for comment.
The full charges include four counts of sexual assault without consent, three counts of assault causing bodily harm and one count of obstructing a person’s normal breathing or blood circulation by applying pressure to his or her neck.
He allegedly took a 20-year-old woman back to his hotel room while he was performing in Perth last week at Bar120.
The attack is alleged to have taken place on Saturday, September 28.
He was represented at Perth Magistrates’ Court by barrister Seamus Rafferty SC, who applied for bail on behalf of Barrientos.
The 29-year-old, who was in Australia on a music tour, has also appeared in the UK on ITV’s Soccer Aid and Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up 2 Cancer.
