Adobe Launches Free Web App to Help Creators Protect Content and Ensure Appearance
Adobe (Nasdaq: ADBE) announced the launch of the Adobe Content Authenticity web app, a free and easy-to-use tool designed to help creators protect their work and ensure they receive proper attribution. The app allows creators to apply Content Detailsa secure metadata feature that acts as a “nutrition label” for digital content, providing valuable information about the creator and how the content was created and edited. The move is part of Adobe’s ongoing effort to fight for creator protection and transparency across the digital ecosystem.
Content validation is already integrated with Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop, Lightroom, and Firefly. With a new web app, Adobe is expanding the reach of Content Verification to give creators the ability to protect their work from unauthorized use and misrepresentation, while helping consumers assess the trustworthiness of digital content. The app builds on Adobe’s 2019 Content authenticity measurenow with more than 3,700 members working to establish Content Assurance as the industry standard for digital content transparency.
Scott Belsky, Chief Strategy Officer and Vice President of Design & Emerging Products at Adobe, emphasized the importance of this innovation: “Adobe Content Authenticity is a new web application that helps creators protect and gain recognition for their work. By giving creators a simple, free and easy way to attach Content Details to their creations, we help them maintain the integrity of their work, while enabling a new era of transparency and trust online.”
Key Features of the Adobe Content Authentication Web App
- Use Content Details: Creators can now easily attach a Content Guarantee to their digital work, including images, audio, and video files, to ensure payment. This helps protect their work from unauthorized use and ensures that they receive proper recognition.
- Generative AI Training and Use Preferences: The app allows creators to indicate their preferences whether they want their content to be used or to train generative AI models. Adobe Firefly, the company’s AI production model, is trained only on content that Adobe has permission to use. By using this preference, creators can protect their work from being used without their consent by other AI models.
- Check and View Content Validation: With a Chrome extension and Inspection tool, users can also display Content Details associated with online content. This ensures that even if the original information is removed, the Content Guarantee remains accessible.
- Ensuring long-lasting content: The application’s use of digital fingerprints, invisible watermarking, and cryptographically signed metadata ensures that Content Authentication remains connected to the creator’s work throughout its lifecycle, even if the content is modified or shared online.
