Evansville had a successful 2024 season when the Aces won the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament to reach the region for the first time since 2006, won the region by defeating host East Carolina in a playoff game and pushed the national champion to the finals. Tennessee in game three of the Knoxville Super Regional.
That historic run may have seemed like it came out of nowhere, but in hindsight, Evansville had been quietly building to that moment for a long time.
The program has undergone major facility renovations over the past few years, including much-needed turf replacement.[…]
