Daniel Medvedev he straddles the fine line between genius and insanity.
Medvedev admits that madness can sometimes get the better of him.

Medvedev overcame a few code violations and a tough Italian Matteo Arnaldi 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, advances to the Rolex Shanghai Masters round of 16.
Afterward, Medvedev said he struggled with an inner conflict between calmness and madness.
“That’s it, you know, I’ve tried many different things in my career, I try to stay calm, I try to be, sometimes, not to try, but sometimes I’m very crazy,” Medvedev told reporters in Shanghai. “And I think that, you know, what works is whatever you feel will work at the moment. It shouldn’t cross the line, that’s true, because you can get it wrong, and that’s not good. Today I didn’t.”
Although the 2021 US Open champion has said that sometimes sex can get him fired, he knows that crossing the line can lead to him making a mistake.
“What I did, I got angry when they started calling a violation, so I made the impression that I was saying something under my hand or under my mouth, how do you say, but I didn’t say anything, to moan something like, Oh, bad, bad, bad,” said Medvedev.” Then I got the second code, which I think would be, you know, maybe appropriate, but then, I went crazy.
“But I knew that in this moment, if I manage the time of the match, I lost the first set, if I was able to use it to my advantage, I can do it, and I was able to do it, so sometimes I need to. I just need to cross the line and be a friend after the game because that’s how sports work.”

Medvedev will try to calm the chaos when he faces Stefanos Tsitsipas who is sitting in the tenth place or Alexandre Muller in the quarterfinal.
“Tsitsipas likes to throw forward, he goes to the net. Tsitsipas, we haven’t played for a long time, I think,” said Medvedev. “Normally I like to play him, but he is a very strong player, so he is a tough opponent in the fourth round.
“I played Alex this year at Wimbledon, and he played out of this world, and I almost got lucky, I mean, it’s not luck because I fought my best and played well again, but he played very well at Wimbledon.
“So I will watch their game, I think they will play in the end because of the rain, so I will watch their game and prepare for who will win.”
