ST. ANDREWS, Scotland — Tyrrell Hatton won the Dunhill Links Championship for a record third time Sunday after making a birdie on the 18th hole at the Old Course in St. Andrews to complete a stroke without partner Nicolas Colsaerts.
Both players teed off on the last hole of the golf course tied for the front and hit their drives close to the green.
Colsaerts got to 8 feet and missed his birdie attempt, leaving Hatton with a chance to win after the Englishman dropped to 4 feet. Hatton’s putt went into the center of the cup.
Hatton, who plays on the Saudi-sponsored LIV Golf circuit, shot a 2-under 70 and was 24 under par — tying his tournament record from 2017. He also won the Dunhill Links in 2016 and ’17.
Hatton’s first European tour win since 2021 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
Colsaerts, who also shot 70, was looking for his first victory in five years.
Tommy Fleetwood shot a 67 and finished in third place, three strokes behind Hatton in an event that paired professionals with novices from the world’s celebrities and businesses on three Scottish courses: St. Andrews, Kingsbarns and Carnoustie.
Hatton, however, played this week with his father.
