Six people were killed in a shooting spree in Tel Aviv
Six people died in a shooting and stabbing incident in Tel Aviv, Israeli police confirmed.
At least nine others were reported injured, with several in critical condition.
The police said the attack started on the railway carriage and continued on the platform. Pictures posted on social media show a gunman shooting at people standing near the Jaffa area.
Police said the two attackers were “blocked” by members of the public and described the motive as “fear”.
The details of the attack are still emerging and the perpetrators have not been identified.
Some Israeli media earlier reported that the death toll was eight, although it was not clear if this included the attackers.
The shooting happened shortly before the start of the Iranian missile attack against Israel.
Missiles and anti-aircraft rockets could be seen in the air above the scene shortly after the shooting.
