Meta Checks AI Custom Images for Facebook, Instagram Feeds

Now you can see your AI-generated photos on your Facebook or Instagram feed as Meta checks for new content.
Meta told Axios on Friday that users can opt out of a new “Customized for You” test that creates AI content based on a user’s interests, even matching their likeness. For example, users can imagine themselves in new settings, as royalty, or as an astronaut, and share images that Meta AI creates of them with their network.
“You can be the star of your story,” Meta said.
The generated images appear to be based on images uploaded by users, noted The Verge.

Meta is also testing adding some AI images to news feeds that may not include users’ faces but are personalized. One photo Meta shared shows the moon’s exposed surface.
Meta is testing changes across Facebook and Instagram. The new feature is still in its testing stages and it is not clear how many accounts it affects.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg talked about its AI efforts earlier this week on Connect, saying that Meta AI has 500 million active users and is expected to become the most used AI assistant by the end of the year.
