Palworld is suddenly coming to PS5
It’s been a while since there was a complaint that Pocketpair was planning to bring to you Palworldone of the biggest games of the year, to the PlayStation 5. However, it was a surprise to find out during Sony’s State of Play broadcast that the action-adventure game is available on the console today.
Palworld (often described as “Pokémon with guns”) landed on Xbox and PC in Early Access in January and became a hit, selling over a million copies in just eight hours. In one month, it had reached more than 25 million players. According to Microsoft, it had the largest number of titles ever for a third-party title on Game Pass.
However, it soon became apparent that the Pokémon Company was investigating Palworld. Fast forward eight months, and the company and Nintendo filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair in Japan. In a post on X, the developer said that the PS5 version of the game is now available in 68 countries and regions around the world, but Japan is not one of them. The country’s release date is yet to be determined.
“This case seeks an order for violation of the law and compensation for damages on the grounds that PalworldThe game, created and released by the Defendant, violates many copyrights,” Nintendo said after filing a lawsuit last week. Pocketpair’s manager said the game “has removed legal review” and the studio said it will “begin appropriate legal action and investigation of claims of copyright infringement.”
So it’s not the right time Palworld coming to PS5. But hey, if you’re willing to buy a game that might be forced to shut down in a few months or years due to a lawsuit, now you can do so on your PlayStation.
