Dustin Johnson defeated Dean Burmester of the Stinger 1 up and Patrick Reed defeated Branden Grace 1 of the 4Aces, who won LIV’s first team title in two years.
The Johnson-led 4Aces are in 10th place in the 13-team league entering the week.
“Yes, this year we struggled a little bit, but I think everyone is playing well now,” said Johnson. “Obviously we have a lot of confidence tomorrow, and anything can happen.”
Marc Leishman and Lucas Herbert won their matches to lead Ripper, the Australian team managed by Cameron Smith, past Fireball.
