A new Cyberpunk Anime is on the way
It’s official: we’re getting another anime in Cyberpunk the whole place.
During Netflix’s Geeked Week, the streamer had a short tease confirming that he is collaborating with CD Projekt Red on another anime project. Before now, the CDPR has said it will open and is willing to do more after that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners it was so successful that many people came Cyberpunk 2077 and the story of its redemption. And it looks like they’re poised to make that wish come true in the next few years as CDPR begins to “lay the groundwork” for what will be a complete sequel… Witch 4 walking out the door. (That’s also getting another anime, funnily enough.)
Unfortunately, nothing else was said about the fire Cyberpunk anime, beyond that it will also be set in the game’s central setting of Night City. (It’s unclear if it will be a show or a movie, la Witch: A Wolf’s NightmarePreviously, the CDPR said it would like to keep it The Edgerunners as a one-season show and tell different stories, which could put the kibosh on any hopes of seeing more of Lucy and…well, just her. As Polygon points out, the captions don’t tell either edgerunners’ animation studio Trigger, that’s just Netflix Animation will be involved. The streamer’s in-house studio produces and develops programs and films (in-house or externally) such as Blue Eye Samurai again Sea Monster.
More information on Cyberpunk’s the next anime venture is coming “soon,” according to a YouTube summary of the trailer. Currently, The Edgerunners it’s still on Netflix waiting to be binged and rewatched until we learn more. And when you’re done with that, you can look forward to the live action Cyberpunk show Lucy entering Guilty Gear Fight For guest fighter sometime in 2025.
