Canva has officially launched “Glow Up,” a major update to its homepage and editor designed to improve the user experience and make it easier for teams to create, edit, and collaborate on designs. This launch celebrates over 20 billion designs created by over 190 million users worldwide.
Marking its second decade, Canva is doubling down on its mission to empower organizations and teams of all sizes to collaborate seamlessly. Canva Glow Up features a reimagined editing experience and a refreshed homepage that simplifies design workflows and inspires creativity.
Key features of Canva Glow Up
1. New Look and Feel
The editor now has a lighter, redesigned theme with a floating item panel that presents the most relevant tabs based on user design. AI-powered tools like Magic Write and Magic Switch are now heavily integrated into the programming experience, allowing users to easily access these features as they work.
2. Simple Design Flow
The new editing flow improves ease of use, making it easier for users to access Canva’s most used features. The home page has also been redesigned, allowing users to jump to their favorite designs quickly. The editor now suggests relevant features with an intuitive toolbar, while additional tools are available in the ‘more’ section, including new features such as Mockups.
3. Customizable Workspace
Users can now ‘star’ their most important designs, folders, or product templates, making it easy to return to important projects. Team admins can also mark important content in a ‘team starred’ section, allowing quick access to team resources and ensuring everyone stays on brand.
4. Enhanced Interaction Features
The updated editor encourages better team collaboration with the introduction of Suggest Mode in Canva Docs, which allows team members to suggest edits without changing the original content. The updated commenting system makes it easier to expand, hide, and filter comments, and streamlines the collaboration process.
