One of Kraven the Hunter’s Weirdest Moments Added to Posts

If you have seen Kraven the Hunter or you’ve just been online, you probably know about the weird moment that happens in the middle of the movie. After being informed that his goons have died trying and failing to kidnap the titular hunter, Alessandro Nivola’s Aleksei Systevich lets out a cry that sounds like a dying machine of some sort. You’d think it was meant to set up his transformation into Rhino later in the film, or even to get some reaction from his superior. But it also doesn’t happen, so it just ends up being a weird moment in a movie that would normally be fun.

What happened here? According to Nivola in a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, at first she cried quietly during the shooting basically because she decided at that moment. It seems to be beneficial as it made the crew laugh, and director JC Chandor later told him that the take would be saved for the end of the film. But at some point during post-production, things changed, and that strange sound he made was something that was done in post-production. He thinks it didn’t work as a silent scream, and he may have had a point, given how memetic it’s been in the past month.

In that same interview, Nivola offered some ideas as to why The Kraven he was severely punished over the coals. By his account, being on the lap was “a really fun experience,” and he enjoyed “running around” with Chandor and co-star Christopher Abbott. (The trio previously starred in Chandor’s 2014 film A Very Violent Year.) He said there don’t appear to be any production issues in his opinion, and noted some of the film’s issues “probably come into play during editing.” In these kinds of movies, you hear about all the conflicts in the studio, and maybe there were too many chefs. “

Anyway This is Kraven’s place not being well received, Nivola has been taking a step forward. He is grateful for reviews that praised his performance, but otherwise, he is good at avoiding the “black hole” that can be critical responses and fan responses. It helps that this isn’t the only movie he’s been in lately: you can see him in it again The Brutalist again The Next Room, both are in theaters now, or will be in late January.
