As 2025 approaches, we’re reviewing all… reviews. Yes, everything we planned, ran, and criticized this year. Alongside the inevitable smartphone and laptop upgrades (it was a particularly strong year for Pixel phones, while Apple continued to offer a premium phone experience on its flagship iPhones), it was also a year of drones and impressive cameras, keeping Steve Dent busy a lot.
Unfortunately, we can’t test everything, so we try to compare devices from companies with a history of making things people buy and unusual, interesting, do-something-different products and services. We’ve included the best gaming laptop of 2024 and Apple’s durable form factor that continues with Apple Silicone’s powerful MacBooks.

2023 was the hottest year on record. This past year he is in a position to win it. We did it, guys. The World Weather Attribution (WWA) released its annual “Weather Extremes” report showing how a man-made increase in temperatures of 34.34 degrees Fahrenheit since last year has caused “relentless heat waves, droughts, wildfires, hurricanes and floods.” The report recorded 219 events from 2024 that meet the “starting criteria” for identifying impactful climate events.
