Meta is working on a software update that builds Quest headsets

Meta is reportedly working on the issue with a software update for some Quest 2, Quest 3 and Quest 3S headsets, the company announced. The company initially angered customers by not only issuing a flawed update, but then telling affected consumers that they would not be able to fix the problem because the headphones were out of warranty, as The Verge report.

Now, Meta seems to be making good on the issue, saying that it is working on a fix “for all users” and that customer support “has new directions in how to support users.” Some consumers said they received an email confirmation from Reddit that the company would provide out-of-warranty service for its fault.

“We discovered a software update issue that caused some Quest 2/3/3S headsets to become unresponsive and unable to boot properly” Meta wrote in its help center. “We are working diligently to solve the problem for all users, but in most cases, you can now use your device normally. If you have a device that is not responding, we are here to help you. If you have a Quest. 3S, click the button below to get the next steps for Quest 2 or 3 users, please contact us for support.

The issue dates back to December 6, when Meta said software updates were running on Quest 3S devices at the time. The update includes features like virtual desktop, quick manual tracking, easy pairing for Windows 11 PCs and more.
