The relatives of the prisoners are trying to break into the prison

A riot inside a prison in the southern state of Tabasco in Mexico has left seven inmates dead, leading to family members trying to break in to check on their relatives.

Four police officers and six other prisoners were injured in the incident, which broke out in the town of Villahermosa on Thursday.

The BBC’s Latin America correspondent Will Grant examines what happened as Mexico’s president announced an investigation into the protest.
