Renzo Furlan, Jasmine Paolini’s Coach, Named 2024 WTA Coach of the Year

2024 was a banner year for Italian tennis – again. And on the women’s side no Italian star shone brighter Jasmine Paolinibreakthrough, reaching two major finals and rising to a career high of No.4 in the WTA rankings.
Paolini, who also won gold at the Paris Olympics in women’s doubles with Sara Errani, finished last year at No. 30 in the rankings, but burst onto the scene this year, making her first Top 20, Top 10 and Top 5 appearances. .
Due to Paolini’s great success his coach, Renzo Furlan, was named WTA coach of the year for 2024.
This award is voted on by the WTA coaches. Established in 2018, this award had never been won by an Italian before. Previous winners were:

Furlan, former World No.19. He started working with Paolini in 2015, but became his full-time coach in 2020.
