For about a week in mid-June of 2022 there was a major coaching hire in college baseball that showed a good fit between the university and the coach. Florida State snagging Link Jarrett from Notre Dame was essentially a formality after the former FSU star shortstop guided the Irish to Omaha. And when Clemson signed Erik Bakich away from Michigan it was a big surprise, it was seen as the same game though.
After Steve Rodriguez resigned in May of 2022, it didn’t take long for Baylor to introduce Mitch Thompson as their player.[…]
