Promoter Eddie Hearn has signed former United lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr. on his Matchroom team, which could lead to an immediate world title fight with IBF 140-lb champion Liam Paro in 2025.
Kambosos 15 minutes of fame since his Teofimo Lopez win is over, but he’s a useful cog for Hearn to mix and match Paro again to expand Matchroom’s presence in the Australian market. There is a strategy against Hearn inking Kambosos, who has lost three of his last four fights.
Will Kamboso be fed to sharks?
Interestingly, Kambosos has made millions since 2022 and is determined to live off the money he made from his last four fights. Everything else is good about his career, and it’s clear that he can make a lot of money against IBF light welterweight champion Liam Paro of Australia on PPV.

This has short contract written all over it, and I would be surprised if Hearn signed Kambosos for more than two fights. The 140-lb division is full of sharks and dangerous for a small, light puncher with limited skill like ‘The Emperor.’ The career survival rate of fighters of Kambosos Jr’s ability is limited in this weight class.
Kambosos would be a good opponent From Paro, Hitchins, Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia, or Jack Catterall. After that, it can be discarded as useless ballast.

He was fortunate once in his career with one major victory over Teofimo Lopez but has been featured several times since 2022. He has made a lot of money from his fights, and it must be painful for fighters over 135 and 140 to watch Kambosos. he is doing well financially because of his limited ability.
Although Kambosos, 31, is regarded as a swashbuckler by fans for his huge upset with Teofimo Lopez, he is a character because of his confidence and name recognition. Kambosos is one of the best players in the sport, and fans love to hate him. You are a self-promoting type of person.
Kambosos Will Be Rushed By Title
By signing ‘Ferocious,’ Hearn won’t need to do much promotional work because Kambosos doesn’t need help generating excitement for his fights. He will do all the work for Hearn, talk about his fights, create tension, make the fans laugh at him.
It probably won’t please Hearn’s fighter Jack Catterall to see Kambosos (21-3, 10 KOs) shot ahead of him at light welterweight, but there is a big difference in star power.
Kambosos is a well-known unified world champion and has fought three superstars, Teofimo Lopez, Devin Haney, and Vasily Lomachenko.
