Of course, many things can happen that will prevent a Shakur vs. They made it happen. Again Many champions want to fight Zepedahe knows he will bring PPV buys. He will be limiting himself if he agrees to fight Shakur next. Zepeda is like 24k gold right now because of his popularity and fun fighting style.
Can Shakur find Zepeda?
This fight has been talked about for over a month, but Zepeda finds himself in demand at 135 after his victory over Tevin Farmer. He is in a good position right now where he can literally choose. If that means Shakur gets a price, good for him, but he may not be the champion who gets the famous Mexican star.
Zepeda (32-0, 27 KOs) revealed last Saturday that other champions are calling his name, and he will pursue the path that offers him the best money.
Shakur would be a good choice because Zepeda already went through the trouble of beating his character, Farmer, last Saturday. It would be a waste of that fight for Zepeda not to fight Shakur next. Still, he wouldn’t say no if Tank Davis needed Zepeda’s spot for his next title defense.
Stevenson backup options
If Shakur loses the Zepeda fight due to a pinfall by Tank, he can always defend his WBC title against one of these boxers:
– Raymond Muratalla
– Andy Cruz
– Keyshawn Davis
– Edwin De Los Santos
Hear: “The Best Card”
“The best card I have ever seen in Riyadh. Obviously, the cards are made. Most wars are agreed upon in principle. Contracts must be signed. We will leave it to His Excellency to announce. I don’t think it will be too far,” Eddie Hearn told Ariel Helwani about the February 22 card in Riyadh.
“It’s amazing when you look at this card from top to bottom. I think it’s the best yet. You already know that Shakur vs. Zepeda has been discussed about that card,” said Hearn.
Again, the Shakur-Zepeda fight was discussed before he fought Tevin Farmer, but that’s not it, he is wanted by all the champions at 135, and maybe even at 140. Zepeda doesn’t need Shakur. It’s another way.
“A lot of champions have mentioned my name and want to fight me, but obviously Shakur Stevenson, that could be next. I’m ready for whoever is next,” said Zepeda speaking to Boxing King Media on Saturday night after his victory over Tevin Farmer in Riyadh.
