A car is driven into a crowd outside a primary school in China
A car plowed into a crowd of people outside a primary school in Hunan province, China, according to media reports.
There are no details of the injured yet, but state media said “a number of students and adults were injured and fell to the ground”.
Many people have been sent to the hospital.
The driver of the car – identified as a white SUV – was reportedly caught by parents and school guards who handed him over to the police.
A video of the scene posted on a private WeChat account shows some children lying on the ground, while terrified students carrying school bags fled the scene.
The incident is the third seemingly senseless attack on crowds in China in less than a week.
At least 35 people were killed in a car attack in southern China on November 12, and eight people died in a stabbing attack at a school in eastern China over the weekend.
On social media, there have been discussions about the possibility of social “social revenge“, where people make their complaints about attacking strangers.
