60 Million Watch Paul Vs. Tyson on Netflix!
Jake Paul’s fight against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was watched by 60 million viewers around the world for eight episodes on Netflix last Friday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
72,300 fans were there to watch the event, but there was not much excitement after the first round. That’s when the fight has become the norm, Jake, 27, beating Tyson, 58, who looked like he didn’t fit in the ring.
If Netflix is going to continue showing boxing events, it needs to focus on making sure the fights are quality and not circuses that will leave fans upset and regretting signing up. In addition, they went to edit the video because many fans complained that the video was cold or cool.
Fans Disappointed With Poor Product
That’s a huge figure for what turned out to be such a bitter war. It did not have the appearance of competing or pleasing the subscribers who sang. It wasn’t as competitive as naive fans thought it would be.
Paul had to realize that by choosing an older fighter like Tyson to help build his brand, he was giving the fans a crappy product.
Fans were fooled into thinking Tyson had a chance with short video clips of him throwing combinations, looking fast and powerful. The clips were short, and no one was throwing punches at him to see how he would react.
The fight between Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano was watched by 50 million viewers. That was a match that was marred by several head collisions and Serrano was cut horribly.
Immediately after the fight, there was a huge backlash against Jake from the fans, who were disgusted by him fighting the legend Mike Tyson to get cheap fame and make more of this fight.
De La Hoya Disgusted Watching Paul-Tyson
“When I watched it, I felt disgusted with Jake Paul for putting this together, knowing that Tyson was 58 years old,” said Oscar De La Hoya on iFL TV about the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson last Friday night.
“If you’re going to fight a 28-year-old like Jake Paul and Tyson, who’s a legend. He is a national treasure. I felt a little disgusted, but not for Tyson. I felt bad for Tyson, but I’m proud of him. Jake Paul, if you want to fight Zurdo right now, let’s do it, and he’ll take you out.
