Moana is the biggest Disney movie ever

A recent Bloomberg report reveals that since it was launched alongside Disney + in November 2019, and more thanks to the early days of the pandemic, Moana’s it ended up being Disney’s highest-grossing film of all time. According to statistics, the audience watched it for a total of 80 billion minutes, which is equivalent to 748 million views. Some Nielsen data shows that it has been one of the four most-watched movies on any streaming service every year for the past half-decade, and in 2024 in particular, it has been somewhere in the Top 10 streams every month so far. Add in the $687.2 million box office during its theatrical run, and it’s safe to say a lot of people loooooooove this movie.

Box office analysts believe it will open to $135 million in North America over the five-day Thanksgiving weekend, boosted by Fandango reporting the biggest first-day ticket sales of any animated film in 2024, a $1.697 billion-hit.
