Foster Beats Conceicao, Wants Navarrete Vs. Valdez Winner
O’Shaquie Foster (23-3, 12 KOs) achieved his goal of defeating WBC super featherweight champion Robson Conceicao (19-3-1, 9 KOs) in their rematch on Saturday night, defeating him by split round decision. 12, and now wants to fight the winner of the Emanuel Navarrete vs. Oscar Valdez II. The two fight for a rematch on December 7.

Foster said he won’t give Conceicao a rematch because he beat him in the first fight, and the judges gave him what he said was a “gift”. When Foster was told that some fans believed his win tonight was a gift, he said, “They can say what they want. I really don’t care.”
Foster has a selfish attitude about the repetition. Many people felt that Conceicao deserved to win the last time they fought because he did the best job. In tonight’s fight, it looked like Foster was handed a decision, and now he’s refusing to give Conceicao a rematch.
Foster’s performance tonight was one of the weakest, and it’s impossible to picture him beating Navarrete or Valdez. The 31-year-old Foster doesn’t have the strength to compete with either of those fighters, and his Shakur style won’t work against them.
It would be very exciting for the fans if Top Rank keeps Foster on track, defending his WBC title, and then the winner of the Robeisy Ramirez vs. Rafael Espinoza rematch moves up to 130 to face the winner of Navarrete-Valdez II.
Foster didn’t look good in his win over WBC super featherweight champion Conceicao, but he got the job done at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. One judge scored it 115-113 for Conceicao, while the other two scored it 115-113 and 115-113.
Conceicao said he wants a third fight because he gave Foster a rematch. Therefore, he feels it is appropriate that he also give it to her. It doesn’t look like Foster will do that because he’s looking for a top-paying fight against the winner of the Navarrete vs. Valdez 2. He could make more money fighting either of them than Navarrete.
It would be Top Rank to make a trilogy between Conceicao and Valdez. However, given how boring tonight’s fight was and the previous one last July, there is no fan interest in a third fight. The reason fans want to see a replay is Foster’s loss.
If he won the first fight with a controversial decision over Conceicao, there would be no need because he is not popular. That doesn’t mean Foster is popular. He certainly isn’t, but he has fans, and they are the ones who made a big fuss about his loss.
Conceicao had already been robbed twice in his fights with Valdez and Navarrete, and the fans didn’t care. No sanctioning body has stepped forward to order a repeat. They just let it happen.
“His heart is unbelievable. He has a big heart,” Foster told the media about Conceicao after the fight. “I told you that I would lift you up and bring you to him. That was my intention.”
Foster didn’t suggest it. That’s the whole problem. He said he was going to fight with anger but it was the same as before. That is why the war was near.
“I’m still not satisfied with the way I played, but I felt like I showed a lot of people my flexibility,” said Valdez. “I want the winner of Emanuel Navarrete vs. Oscar Valdez.”
It would be good for the fans if Top Rank doesn’t match Foster against the winner of the Navarrete-Valdez fight. A better option would be for Top Rank to match Raymond Muratalla against Foster in a sink or swim battle. If Foster believes in his ability, he should have no problems facing Muratalla.
