Add Ninjago to our list of Live-Action Lego Movies

You may remember hearing a few days ago that Universal officially announced a slew of live-action Lego movies to be helmed by Patty Jenkins. (Wonder Woman 1984), Joe Cornish (A child who can King), and Jake Kasdan (Red One). But we, all of us, have been deceived, because it turns out that there are not three, but five four live Lego movies in action.

Buried among the news this week is that Lego is also taking over its delivery Ninjago toy line to live-action. No director has been revealed, but the brothers (and Star Trek Prodigy creators) Kevin and Dan Hageman were contacted to write their script. The two already have experience with the franchise, having created and executive produced the first nine seasons of their CG series on Cartoon Network (and later Netflix). As for which film is said to cover it, that is in the shadows for now.

Ninjago the first started from 2011 and focuses on a group of color-coded ninjas with different powers such as fire, ice and earth. (Also, one of them is apparently a robot?) Trained in the art of “spinjitzu,” the six ninjas defend the bustling city from evil forces like Lord Garmadon (who also happens to be the father of the green ninja Lloyd), long-distance lords, and biker gangs. . (Y’know, typical ninja stuff.) Both the toy line and the show are still going strong and popular, and even back when Warner Bros. make lego movies, Ninjago it was the brand’s first (and only) creation to get a theatrical film…which went on to become the series’ first box office hit.

We think these new Lego movies, Ninjago included, will it go with live games? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
